| comment: | in this work thousands of names of rivers and watercourses have been written down in blue pencil, and together they form an 'ocean of streams'. These names provide information about the history of a region. Over time they were used unthinkingly and they lost their meaning. The retention or recovery of knowledge of the world plays a role in many of de vries’s works. |
